Adore Community

Amsterdam is home to a dynamic community of over 2,000 researchers specializing in neurology and oncology, making it the largest neuro-oncology research hub worldwide. Adore collaborates closely with leading institutions across the campus, including O|2, Amsterdam UMC, the Imaging Center, MATRIX Innovation Center, and the VU Research Facility, fostering an environment of cutting-edge interdisciplinary research.

While the majority of our affiliates are based in Amsterdam, Adore welcomes researchers from across the Netherlands and beyond. By expanding our community, we aim to strengthen interdisciplinary collaboration, attract top talent, and drive innovative breakthroughs. As a member of Adore, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the research community, provide valuable insights, and grow alongside the initiative.

Our Community in Action

The GEN-BioDORA project was launched in 2024 with the goal of establishing a central biobank for the secure, centralized, and digital storage of genetic material. The GEN-BioDORA biobank provides a rich source of high-quality data for researchers across multiple disciplines. By combining genetic information from diverse patient groups and diseases, it offers a solid foundation for interdisciplinary collaboration within the ADORE initiative, where cancer researchers and neuroscientists work together. By integrating expertise from different fields, researchers gain deeper insights into the genetic basis of neurological disorders and can develop personalized treatment strategies for cancer patients. Dr. Lansbergen attended the EACR Cancer Neuroscience Conference in Bilbao to present the project’s objectives and key deliverables.
