Confirm your attendance and sign-up for a workshop

Thank you for your pre-registration for the 1st ADORE Symposium.
To finalize the organisation of the event, we kindly ask you to confirm your attendance and, if applicable, select your preferred workshop.
The workshops will be held in parallel from 14:00-16:30.
Workshop 1
Bringing interdisciplinarity to fruition: from reflecting on differences to triangulating interests and ideas
A century after its origin, interdisciplinarity remains challenging. Bringing researchers from multiple disciplines together does not necessarily lead to innovative and realistic projects. Doing so does also require addressing potential differences and obstacles. Yet it can then lead to results that are more robust and relevant than monodisciplinary research would yield.
In this interactive workshop we will address the following topics:
- interdisciplinarity: definition and perceived pro’s and cons
- integration as a key to robust interdisciplinary research
- collaboration and its hurdles: discussing results of the Toolbox-survey
- generating new ideas: triangulation exercise.
Workshop 2
Crash Course Valorisation: Impact Pathways for Valorisation
In this interactive Crash Course on Valorisation, participants explore the many ways in which scientific research can create societal value beyond clinical applications alone. We focus specifically on soft impact: translating knowledge into society through collaboration, communication, education, policy influence, and the engagement of patients and public stakeholders.
Participants discover new roles for scientists within society and reflect on what it truly means to have impact as a researcher.
The workshop combines inspiring examples with practical exercises. Researchers map out their own valorisation opportunities, formulate concrete first steps, and learn how to integrate impact strategies into research plans and grant proposals.
After the workshop, participants will be able to:
- Identify and recognise different forms of (soft) impact
- Identify opportunities to make their own research more visible and relevant to society
- Formulate initial steps toward impact-oriented activities (e.g., co-creation, communication, societal partnerships)
- Gain inspiration and insight into roles that align with both the research profile and the personality of the researcher
- Translate impact ambitions into research proposals and project ideas
